ABOUT THE JOB

We are looking for a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our team in Minneapolis, MN or Atlanta, GA.

Job Summary:

As a Senior Mechanical Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and optimizing piping and equipment related process and utilities equipment.

  • Design piping systems, including hydraulics, layouts, isometrics and pipe stress analysis.
  • Prepare technical specifications and datasheets for equipment.
  • Coordinate with vendors to stay up to date on the latest equipment offerings for packaged units typical of large industrial projects (boilers, compressors, pumps, etc.)
  • Collaborate with other engineers, technicians, and stakeholders to ensure integrated and efficient operations.
  • Monitor and analyze process data to identify and resolve issues.
  • Prepare technical reports, documentation, and presentations.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations, and safety guidelines.
  • Participate in project planning, budgeting, and scheduling.
  • Mentoring of other engineers on areas of expertise.

The position will require an ability to make independent decisions on engineering problems and methods, define options, and articulate the best solution(s) to the team. This is not a supervisory position; however, the individual may need to direct the work of other engineers and/or designers on a project basis. This is a hybrid position.

Qualifications:

Minimum Academic & Professional Requirements:

  • Flexible and dynamic team player capable of integrating into an international team
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Strong organizational and project documentation habits
  • Ability to provide excellent customer service, work well in a collaborative environment, and demonstrate effective team-building skills
  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical/Chemical Engineering
  • Licensed Professional Engineer preferred.
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in industrial projects utilizing ASME, API, NFPA and other industrially accepted codes and standards.
  • Demonstrated experience with equipment sizing and specification (rotating or static) and/or piping system design for large scale projects.
  • Experience managing successful client relationships and business development skills is a plus
